Updates 1-4: Gremlins -&- More Fuel for the Yule Logs -&- a Bud Update

This has been bumped up to Dec. 23.

Template problem: Scroll to the bottom if the menu at left with titles of posts, etc. are missing

Update 4: Free speech in Canada wounded again

I have discovered several Gremlins but I would suggest you look at FHTR week of Oct. 23, 05 to Oct. 29, 05 and note any links that do not work or lead to the wrong week, for example, as I have noted below. Who has access to Blogger (owned by Google) in Canada? Who is able to make this kind of change?

http://

2005_10_23_frosthitstherhubarb_archive.html

If a link is corrupted, it is probably worth looking at the article or the original. Usually, but not always, I give the name of the article so you might search. It seems I could spend all day correcting links.

I have found links to previous FHTR posts but to the wrong week. I am usually more careful when I correct my own links so when further corruption--of my corrections--is found ... I look further.

Example: A link should have led to FHTR Feb. 24, 2005

Correct link as of Dec. 23, 05:

How it may be done

This is an example of a corrupted link
Oct. 28, 05, one I thought I had corrected. Maybe I did not.

Incorrect link -- Note how it is done in this case, by doubling a line, then inserting %20

I have not enough time to check and correct more. Perhaps it is sufficient that Canadians become aware of just what is happening to free speech, even with bloggers.

Then listen to our state broadcaster for how the news is slanted through tone and other means I have written about before. It is in high Liberal Propaganda Organ form. Check CBCwatch.ca also.

Who would benefit from all the Gremlins?

Why would a taxpayer funded news organization be so desperate that it is actually working so obviously to maintain the status quo?

As I have said before, follow the yellow brick road, only one of the interesting pathways.

For some reason, previously, I had noted this link to check into further. Maybe it has something interesting, maybe not.

The Appointed Ones Reign Supreme

Editorial:The freedom to swing

This is not the behaviour Canadians want their children to be exposed to, is it? In effect, we are being told by our Supremes that this is acceptable for our society, though they might protest that their ruling does not mean exactly what I describe. The effect is to normalize this aberrent behaviour. Those who live like this will push even further, having gained a favourable ruling from the SCOC. Wait for Montreal sex clubs to be advertised in the newspaper you read with your morning coffee.

The free love crowd's chickens have come home to roost ... at the SCOC it seems. Is any behaviour acceptable now--no matter how far outside society's norms, no matter how detrimental to the family unit, the basic societal unit? Soon we will have plural wives accepted ...... must be inclusive in Canada ...... Note, I did not mention plural husbands.

Get rid of this appointed travesty, the Supreme Court. Let Canadians elect our top justices, after we have heard more about the past decisions they have made and after we have cogitated a bit. Let the Canadian community, not the Liberal controller PM(s), decide who should sit on our Supreme Court and our Senate. Communities should decide who will be the local candidate. Read Garth Pritchard's article for who and what groups control the news and what we are allowed to know. We want to choose what news and news sources we may access. We do NOT want to be controlled by groups chosen by an all-powerful PM/PMO, and ......... The rest of us want our Canada back. Oh, oh, I'm going psychologically ballistic again.

Will no-one rid us of this government and its enablers?

The railroading of Jean Pelletier -- I still remember Pelletier's comments at the time Myriam Bedard testified and I remember what she said. Very interesting that some of it disappeared from Hansard, subsequently. Now, how did that happen?

Update 2

A Christmas story of our PM and fellow travellers

Canadian news by government decree By Garth Pritchard, Thursday, December 22, 2005

It was January 8, 2005--I was in Sri Lanka, shooting footage for a documentary on the Canadian DART group, sent to help the people after a 32-foot wave, traveling 500 miles an hour hit the fragile houses and people of the Ampara district.

Prior to leaving, the politicians in Ottawa had spoon-fed the Canadian news outlets. So, Canadian Press reported .....

Search: the stunning behaviour of the Prime Minister and his handlers , The Prime Minister didn’t even bother to , sound of silence , Peter Mansbridge and his CBC crew , with Canadian soldiers--in Afghanistan , The bomb factory story , censored , "Because journalists were there in the embedded program, they had agreed to" , "That’s how it’s done nowadays. Control." , "....Have you got any idea how pissed CIDA is at you?" , All the lines lead to one enormous , Our national media is quickly boiling down to , where is the CRTC in all of this? , "Consider the upcoming election, and the so-called debates" , "we’re looking for input from our beloved bloggers" , "This film-maker has been shot. CBC will not run anything produced by us, nor will the National Film Board." , Included in this nightmare--which I will call censorship--is ................

And a Merry Christmas to the free ones at Canada Free Press ...

For some reason, and untouched by me, the template has developed problems. It means that, if your screen doesn't show the previous posts and links, they are probably at the bottom.

How convenient ... for the usual Gremlins ... to whom I wish a Christmas drinking party--and endless hangovers--excruciatingly uncomfortable and of momentous proportions ... the kind of misery that will leave them unable to operate and ... oh, never mind. You know what I wish them.

For the rest of you, have patience. This, too, will pass. Merry Merry Christmas. NJC

Update 1: I just added Bud's latest as of Dec. 23, 05 and some music suggestions from me. NJC

Brutal Betty, the Conservative Butcher ... Hacking at the sacred Liberal cows

I realize that some blog writers prefer the rapier when skewering their opponents. However some downer cows need special attention. No amount of rapier wit can make these babies even stumble. No, one must apply the broadsword. How do you cut through such nonsense as Martin's pledge to ban all handguns. This, on top of the hideously bloated, non-functional gun registry, is a blunderbuss of rank idiocy. No mere "touche" is going to deflate it. Broadswords are required here. The absurd potlatch ceremonies with the aboriginals that the Liberals engage in needs a mighty whack, and maybe a catapult of commonsense facts hurled their way. With the heavy armour of liberal media supporting the Liberals, more asinine, extravagant ideas, even seige machines, may be necessary.

I hope I have been vindicated by my occasional vicious slashing of the Liberals. Whatever, I will still ask Santa for a scimitar for Christmas.

© Bud Talkinghorn

I received this and then I read it ... Waaaaah! ... Who is my sidekick Bud talking about when he uses the 'Brutal Betty' slur? ... On second thought, I hope I rate a suitably nasty epithet ... Might as well serve up tasty chops from the downer cows ... for the New Years and the election.

The Hydra-headed beast of Liberal hypocrisy

Doesn't Paul Martin ever fact check his utterances? Now he is accusing Harper of weakening the country by granting more autonomy to the provinces--specifically, Quebec. "Canada must speak with one voice" is his current mantra. However, in May, 2004, in Laval, Martin proclaimed that "Quebec should not only be at the table in UNESCO, but it must also be able to speak when we discuss things." That statement was made before Martin donned his Captain Canada outfit. I can hardly wait for Paul's newest policies to be announced. Pointing out the inaccurances or blatant hypocrisies focuses my mind delightfully. Still, these Hydra-headed hypocries involve a lot of one's time. A broadsword and a cauterizing iron should be kept handy.

Addendum: Please tell me that, Wednesday, I was hallucinating when I heard Martin on CBC actually say, "I will protect Quebec from both the Americans and the Separtatists". Just how he is going to "save" Quebec from those dastardly Yanks wasn't fleshed out. Perhaps he will use great gobs of taxpayers' money to erect towers in Quebec, which will deflect U.S. radio and television transmissions. I'm sure the CRTC--almost all Liberal appointees--will rubber-stamp that ploy. Isn't that yet another hypocrisy, as Martin recently declared that he wasn't using anti-American rhetoric in his campaign?

© Bud Talkinghorn--Stay tuned.

The Liberals' handgun ban

How many billion dollar albatrosses can Martin sling around his neck before he has to resort to wearing a back brace--a tungsten-reinforced one at that? The tragic murder of a young policewoman shows the futility of further encroachments on legitimate gun owners. Simply put some teeth into the current gun laws and the gun rampages will abate. You don't get to play with your Glock in a supermax prison. And the judge that allowed the young female cop's murderer to have an "elephant gun" after he was deemed unstable and a menace, should be pulled off the bench.

* welcomed to his cabinet as Quebec lieutenant the former Bloc Quebecois (separatist) Jean Lapierre who dismissed the Clarity Act as "useless"

* turfed Stephane Dion who, with Chretien, was one of the Clarity Act's architects

* ( lied ) misquoted the figures on how many jobs would likely be jeopardized if Quebec separated by inflating the number estimated, multiplying by 10

* was known in Quebec as "the friendly federalist, more likely to acquiesce to the province's demands than Mr. Chretien"

* ( lied ) dissembled on Quebec having a seat at UNESCO

* and Jack Granatstein has described Paul Martin thus:

"Martin didn't seem to have any real ideas and beliefs. He was a cushion that the last person to sit on would make an impression, that he would say anything to win a vote, do anything to win a vote."

[. . . . ] Liberal internal polls must be absolutely horrendous, if they're reduced to this sort of ahistorical nonsense, this early:

"We look to the prime minister of the country to protect" the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Liberal leader said as he launched his post-debate campaign phase. One reason why Maritimers vote as they do

OTTAWA - The CBC has buckled to public pressure and pulled an internet image cropped to make Conservative Leader Stephen Harper appear to be giving a Nazi salute.

Now the state-funded broadcaster is facing additional public criticism over an internet cartoon animation mocking Harper as "rigid, cold and completely devoid of life."

The CBC Ombudsman's office has received several emailed complaints from people upset the CBC would post the cartoon during the current, hotly contested election.

The sources for balanced news are limited in the Maritimes, except for the internet and few use the internet for news, it appears.

Consider why Maritimers vote as they do; there is little alternative to the codswallop they're served ... and uninformed by ......... from just about all sources.

This week, on the CBC National, under the guise of something or other, Maritimers were treated to a lovingly followed and lingered over St. John Liberal Paul Zed--an Irving son-in-law--electioneering in St. John. Emphasized was how much clout Zed has in Ottawa. For the kind of person who is a bundle of needs, desires and wants, I suppose this is a positive.

For the rest of us, CBC was doing its usual Liberal Propaganda Organ job ........ helping another Liberal in the Maritimes to become or remain an MP and to maintain the PM and Team status quo. There are several announcements floating around now concerning what the MP has brought in the way of pork.

For instance, Min. Andy Scott has brought home the bacon in the form of ACOA or AIF grants and/or funding announcements. e.g. a grant for the highway upgrade leading from the capital, Fredericton, to the Mirimichi ..... If the Liberals are re-elected, of course, it will be built, is the message the locals are to take.

If the people don't vote Liberal, the sky will fall in ... and the locals will die on the highway, I assume. Ridiculous. Every party agrees the highway must be built so it doesn't matter what party gets voted in.

I've been saying for years what the above media analyst noted. I am offended by the CBC's blatant politicking for Paul but it is not just the CBC, as I investigated and then detailed about where I was led by looking further into only one Global TV news program, an utterly biased program. (See FHTR Dec. 19, 05 with seven items entitled: "Follow the Yellow--Red--Brick Road #1" and ending with #7. On Dec. 16, 05, I posted links to some and then I added information and updates later.)

The motto in the Maritimes seems to be "Keep 'em ignorant and voting Librano$" ... aka Lieberal.

Thanks to those who write in the Shotgun for the handles. I love the efforts made by Westerners and others in the Western Standard / the Shotgun to inform, as opposed to whatever one would call what the rest of those in the mainstream media who regurgitate press releases do, too often. That does not apply to all, of course, but the system does not reward that type of journalist, I have found. Think of the awards that I suspect could eventually be linked back to taxpayer money used to reinforce Liberal .....

Caveat: An acquaintance says I use a cudgel when a rapier--even a switchblade--would do. There is probably a large grain of truth in that, but I want readers to be able to check the sources I cite and so I list.

Obviously, my species thrive in dusty libraries and stacks of newspapers. We do not shop, at any rate, for Christmas, nor to give meaning to life. If it can't be preserved, baked, cooked, sewn or otherwise fabricated at home, forget about it. I have managed this month not to enter a shop except a grocery store or that other absolutely essential purveyor of seasonal necessities. Incidentally, I feel quite satisfied with Christmas already. It is tremendously liberating to want almost nothing and to assume food is worth preparing and giving to those who agree that Christmas has meaning beyond gifts, that Christmas is enhanced by and celebrated with those who wish to share the meaning, the family feeling, the groaning board, the children and the conviviality. What other kinds of friends and relatives does one need? ... Besides, some of them even like my cooking.

May your family and friends surround you. Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas and Blessings upon all. NJC

Bud Talkinghorn & A Bit More

Martin and The Charter--more hypocrisy

I'm afraid that Paul Martin's bluster about how Harper doesn't deserve to rule has boomeranged on him. Supposedly, Harper's promise of a truly free vote on the same-sex marriage bill makes him a Charter pariah. Boomerang number one was when Martin claimed he "would never use the notwithstanding clause", but only a few years ago he had said he would in certain circumstances. Now he is Moses defending the Ten Commandments.

Boomerang number two is even worse. In the debate he stated that any candidate aspiring to the Prime Ministership must cherish his version of The Charter. This obviously is Stephen Harper being referred to here. Conveniently, the "random" questions from the public happened to start with the same-sex issue. "First impressions are lasting impressions" seems to be the strategy employed by the small-L producers. This allowed Martin to pull out all bombastic stops and rail at Harper's "secret anti-Charter agenda". Finding good liberal press coverage of his bambast, Martin went further in Burnaby, BC. There he stated that "Anyone with another view of The Charter or same-sex marriage was unfit for public office in Canada." He liked that line so much, he repeated it in Regina. That must have been a body blow to the 31 Liberals, who publically voted in The House to rescind the same-sex marriage bill. Can't you see them--some high level cabinet secretaries--pulling up their election signs? However, I don't think that Martin's Louis the Fourteenth's complex will stretch that far. Instead Paul is now retracting that fatwa. He "really" meant that he, as supreme guide, cannot espouse such heresy. What a Conservative coup. They should broadcast these two statements in every riding that has one of these Liberal "same-sex heretics" running.

Switching gears for a moment. Does Martin not understand that The Notwithstanding Clause was purposely embedded in The Charter, precisely because the framers--even Trudeau--saw the need to control some activist Supreme Court decisions? They were not about to allow a Star Chamber to gain strength in Canada. However, Martin tries to bamboozle the public with the idea that this clause is some foreign legal manoeuver to overturn The Charter. These combined statements are the actions of a desperate man. I can only hope that the public in general can see through all this subterfuge.

© Bud Talkinghorn

The Leadership debates--Tedious or simply misdirected?

... or lacking the blood that the mainstream media salivate over?

We are all crying in our beer (and popcorn) that the debates didn't meet the expectations of the media. Where was the harmonic opposition chorus when Martin tried to pretend that the Gomery Inquiry was history? Where were the catcalls when Layton reminded everyone of the corporate tax cuts for the seventh time? Where were the reality checks, which would explain, patiently, that Gilles Duceppe's fantasy of a prosperous, independent Quebec was maybe just taken from a Cuba-in-waiting script? Geez, couldn't one of them have at least whipped out a placard, saying, "My opponent is the anti-Christ?" You know, stay on the money message, but occasionally throw a bone to the Christians. After all, their holiday hasn't been completely dismantled (yet), so let's get some spiritual mojo tossed in. The single banner carrier of a Christian viewpoint was poor Harper, who tried to lay out his ideas and beliefs, albeit in a policy wonk sort of way. Besides being a trifle doctrinaire, it was deemed way dull. More mindless sound bites please. Bring on the histrionics they display in Question Period.

This format of civilized "debate" does have it's charms. We were spared the bombast and endless interruptions that the media so desperately want. However, where was the "knockout punch" media can put on the front page? If the media had their way the candidates would have to gobble down a can of worms to show they were truly "fearless". Look, the Trudeau cannonball, and the Stanfield fumbling the football; they were boffo theatre. Can't we at least have Harper hurl his lectern towards Martin--or vice versa--as an emotional point maker? It is too bad that Bono has had a falling out with Paul. Just think of the youth vote gained as Bono croons behind Paul, "I am Canada's Dream" song. Harper could have the combined choir of the East and West Moosejaw Evanglical church swoop with "Hallelujah!" each time he hits the right moral election points. Layton could have Bruce Cockburn sing a protest song that simutaneously hugs the whales, wolverines and the darter snail fish. Then the media could have Jack emerge out of a gigantic old growth forest fern. Is this too much to ask to bring back the disaffected youth and the easily bored?

Ok! So these proposals entail big budgets. The old sponsorship scam can't cover these things any more. Therefore, the product must be seen as cost-efficient. The cheesy Roman forum backdrop fits the bill. However, at no extra cost, it could be enlivened. So, there are four of them and four debates; now let's just fall back on a tried and true formula. We simply vote off the loser of each debate. Extinguish their torches and move them to the green room for their post-debate bitter analysis. Maybe we might let them come back to judge the final two candidates. Throw in Jackass, who can wheel the final loser away in a shopping cart. Then throw him in a rubbish tip. Issues, missues. We are talking a vibrant media event here. If you can't provide sound bites, at least give us some video footage. There is hope for this turkey yet. Think remotes, you political people. "Well, I'm glad you asked that question, Marci, as this problem is so near to my heart,"--CLICK! This is not going to sell much popcorn. Segue to "The Great Race", "Fear Factor" or "Survivor Canada"; take your pick. We can beat those ratings with the right format angle. Take thirteen!"

Well, so much for what the media would like. My only serious complaint is that there should have one or two chances for the leaders to challenge each other directly. Just as one pertinent question is asked of a Liberal, the next time slot goes to the Bloc. The question can therefore be effectively ignored. All sides would gain by this advantage. Too bad.

It also reminded me about being in government when Junior was Minister of Finance. Most of us – with the exception of three senior guys in the leader’s office, all of whom now regret their miscalculation, or should – saw Junior as profoundly, irreducibly weak, and willing to say anything, absolutely anything, to please whomever walked through his doorway. Time and time again, we’d hear the same tale: if an MP got something, it was because Junior had fought for it at cabinet, triumphing over mean old Chretien. And if the MP was unsuccessful – well, that was Chretien’s fault, too. The media loved him, of course, because his budgets were remarkable for what had not been leaked, not for what had been leaked.

Buying good press -&- Paris riots caused by poverty

One thing just leads to another ...

In Reply to: Re: Saudi Prince Gives Millions to Harvard and Georgetown posted by Sandra Norris -- Buying Fox News By Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld and Alyssa A. Lappen, FrontPageMagazine.com December 13, 2005

Saudi Prince al-Waleed bin Talal boasted in Dubai earlier this week about his ability to change the news content that viewers around the world see on television.

In early September 2005, Bin Talal bought 5.46% of voting shares in News Corp. .....the world's leading newspaper publisher in English. .... 175 newspapers, .... owns and operates an international collection of TV outlets, radio stations, magazines, book publishers and film studios.

[. . . . ] Covering the riots in Paris last November, Fox ran a banner saying: "Muslim riots." Bin Talal was not happy. "I picked up the phone and called Murdoch... (and told him) these are not Muslim riots, these are riots out of poverty," he said. "Within 30 minutes, the title was changed from Muslim riots to civil riots."

Riots are caused by poverty, note ... That statement could have come from Toronto, the NDP or the Liberals

You think this could never happen in Canada? Think of the language used when reporting by the gang you fund that dissembles in calling itself "trusted". ..... It is "connected", however, to one political view. That is why Palestinian bombers, jihadis, murderers are not termed "terrorists" by our liberally connected Pravda . . . aka LibPropOrg.

The subject of influence has enormous implications for Canadians and democracy. There are those who buy influence and network with politicians, some of whom I have mentioned on this site. There are those organizations and people whom our government encourages to influence because some in our government want to change Canada forever; they may have already changed Canada, possibly beyond fixing. They have allowed danger into our home.

Check for the most desperate politician campaigning. Why so desperate? It is illogical for a grown man to be that . . . needy . . . or is it afraid?

PM speaks with forked tongue ..... again

This first excerpt is intended only to whet the appetite for the whole article. Definitely worth reading and particularly so, if you are Jewish. Canadians must wake up to what is going on ... or is it too late?

Warren Kinsella: November 18, 2005 - Interesting news release, which I pass on for your consideration: "Prime Minister Paul Martin is no friend of Israel" Opinion, Alastair Gordon, November 18, 2005 - Toronto

Prime Minister Paul Martin is no friend of Israel. Even by the standards of politics, Paul Martin's willingness to lie to a Jewish audience, especially when it is certain that he will be caught out a few days later, beggars the imagination.

On November 13, Paul Martin spoke to an overwhelmingly Jewish audience at the General Assembly of the United Jewish Communities (UJC) in Toronto. He said [ view video ]:

[. . . . ] Canada voted against Israel 5 out of 6 times on that year's first batch of "politicized anti-Israel resolutions", including one declaring that Israel has no legal, jurisdictional or administrative rights to any part of Jerusalem.

Is there a pattern here? Thunder with indignation before a Jewish audience as if the travesty is someone else's doing, and then continue the anti-Israel agenda unchanged. It worked in 2004, so why not try it again in 2005? [. . . . ]

Mississauga-Erindale - Exploration of statements: "Islam won!" - "We have the east, we have the west, and now we have Mississauga!"

Note: There are statements, denials, and further investigation, so read to the end ... and then, maybe, read further. NJC

"We have the east, we have the west, and now we have Mississauga!"

As first reported, but later, there is new timing information.

Liberal strategy a dangerous mix of religion and politics

Toronto, Canada Monday, December 19, 2005 - On December 2, the Liberal candidate for Mississauga-Erindale, Omar Alghabra, made his victory speech after winning the nomination. In that speech, he reportedly exhorted his audience, "This is a victory for Islam! Islam won! Islam Won! ... Islamic power is extending into Canadian politics".

Alghabra's victory speech was delivered to an audience of several hundred in the Coptic Christian Centre of the Church of the Virgin Mary and St. Athanasius in Mississauga. [. . . . ]

David Ragheb, a member of the congregation, reported that following Alghabra's victory speech, Markham Councillor Khalid Osman took to the stage and declared, "We have the east, we have the west, and now we have Mississauga!"

Victor Fouad, a Coptic Christian from the congregation where the speech was made wrote to several newspapers and to the Prime Minister, who, incidentally, has ignored his letter, it seems. Scroll for the letter on the webpage: "Liberals bring Islamists one step closer to Parliament"

Caveat: There are differing accounts of whether it was the candidate, Omar Alghabra or Khalid Osman, decribed as his financier and manager, who made the comments. This thread on the Canadian Coalition for Democracies website explores what happened and has several links. NJC

BUT skim to the end of this post for corroborating accounts.

What I would question is if it were Alghabra's financier and manager who made the comments, and it seems something very disturbing was said by one of them, then what does it say about the backing and the friends of the Liberal candidate for Mississauga-Erindale, Alghabra? I would be concerned about how desperate our top Liberal leadership is in this circumstance. Canada must eradicate extremism.

Canada requires more than one political party and more than one political philosophy. We then need public political discussion of the differences in these policies.

What is revealed about this incident reveals something entirely different. NJC

Further down on the same webpage is this:

David Ragheb .... also reported that Rogers Cable was present throughout and may have filmed the event. "A member of parliament is supposed to represent my concerns about taxes and roads in Mississauga, not promote an Islamic agenda," said Ragheb.

Riding Talk: 156 Mississauga-Erindale Posted by: victor fouad Dec 18, 2005 [sic]

Mr. Omar [Elghabra], after winning the Liberal Nomination in Mississauga-Erindale, stood and announced loudly, several times, this is a VICTORY for ISLAM, ISLAM WON, ISLAM WON, he also started talking about how Islamic power is extending in the Canadian Politics, and the Muslims cheered around him [. . . . ]

another source

"The result tonight is a prove for Muslims unity and a victory for Islam, and that Arab mean Muslims and although Mr. Hazineh keep telling me he is a Christian I am telling him that he better be a muslim" He also said that this is the beginning to take over other ridings in Mississauga and later take over Canada. He also added "Do not vote Conservative they are against Islam and Muslims".

CBC Canada Votes 2006 posted by Mike Sulonaki Dec 12, 2005

Also the Head of the Riding, was fired ONE DAY before the election by Caroline Parish for leaking out important and private information and "Violating the Canadian Privacy Law", how could that be?, how could he become the head of the riding?

Many people who live in the area went on the elections day and were notified that their names were not there !, whilst others live in Markham and were allowed to vote !!!!. True Corruption was apparent.

We condemn this religious radical and fanatic attitude shown by the Liberal Nominee and in front of multitudes of people, and which was disgusting to the many non-Muslims who represent the overwhelming majority of the people in the area.

Rogers Cable was shooting this historical incident; ....

A strange way of phrasing it

"I didn't say a thing about Muslims or Islam in my acceptance speech"

Re: Is this the essential disagreement? Posted by Al Gordon on 18:16:05 2005/12/20, In Reply to: Re: Mississauga News Story posted by Al Gordon

[. . . . ] Having spoken to several more people who were present at the event, here is the sequence of events about which there is consensus. Omar Alghabra made a very polite and professional acceptance speech following his victory. Khalid Osman, who is decribed as his financier and manager, then grabbed the microphone and made a series of exhuberant statements about this being a victory for Islam and now they have now taken Mississauga. Omar Alghabra joined in the cheering and celebrating of the Islamist rhetoric of Khalid Osman, without distancing himself from such statements. Then they stepped down from the stage amidst the bedlam of their supporters, and that was when Omar Alghabra made the statements in the opening paragraph of the media release. [. . . . ]

Algjabra does not say he didn't make statements like this at another time, even during a later part of the meeting. It is time to see the Rogers video of the event, whatever they filmed.

In Canada, if you want to work or to do business . . . . . Need I say more?

Out of the mouths of cynics ...

Mainstream Media ... doing ... its (usual?) job

If this story was about Christians it would be front page news on CTV, CBC, and every other Liberal media outlet in Canada. But because it involves Islam they won't touch it ... Dec. 20, 05

A rising tide ... of ... ?

Figures from the 2001 census show that the number of people professing the Muslim faith has increased almost 130 per cent in a decade to total 579,640 individuals. Islam is now Canada's fastest-growing religion.

The census showed that for the first time Muslims outnumber Jews, a demographic change that some commentators say could influence Canadian policy in the Middle East in years to come.

[. . . . ] But the past year or so has seen an unprecedented level of political activity by community members. The groups are a regular fixture on Parliament Hill, appearing before Senate and House committees that have been reviewing an array of immigration, human rights and anti-terrorism bills. [. . . . ]

Why does this not give me a sense of security? Paul Martin & Team will do anything to win. They do not care about Canada nor preserving our traditional values, IMHO.

The cynic in me wonders: Would / Could anyone be enlisted to record some, but not all, of that meeting? Would this not ensure that Muslims vote Liberal?

Liberal Recommendation: Praise ... revealing in its own way

Liberal Press Release

Mr. Alghabra is a well-known voice of moderation in the Canadian Muslim community. The former president of the Canadian Arab Federation, Mr. Alghabra is also a former member of the Toronto Stars [sic] community editorial board and a board member for the Canadian International Peace Project, a multi-faith effort to promote peace and understanding in the Middle East. Board members of that group include the National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations, Phil Fontaine, and Ontario Progressive Conservative leader John Tory.

The Mississauga News spoke to someone who heard pro-Islamic remarks Mississauga News: Chris Clay, Dec 20, 2005, Posted by Sean on 17:21:45 2005/12/20

Erindale resident Sheref Elsabawy, who was at the meeting, said he was "shocked" to hear Alghabra make several pro-Islamic remarks. Elsabawy, a 40-year-old senior network engineer and Coptic Christian who voted for Alghabra, said, "this was a big warning for us that we could be second class citizens (if Alghabra is elected). He has an agenda. "I feel embarrassed to have endorsed Omar to the Coptic Christian community," said Elsabawy. "We don't support candidates because they're a Muslim or Christian." [. . . . ]

AngryGWN--excellent sleuthing - IRB - Lib Radical Muslim Candidate Mouammar, David Warren, Doug Fisher, Khadr, Rogers Cellphone Woes

David Warren: To be fair, Mr Martin and cronies have more reasons to cling, than the enjoyment of power itself. For if even a minority Conservative government can be formed, there may be three-party agreement to launch corruption inquiries that go far beyond the scope of the Gomery Commission. Billions upon billions are spent annually in other unaudited programmes, crying out for review. Remember this each time the Liberals sound desperate. -- "I AM Canadian", December 18, 2005

AngryGWN and some of our IRB stakeholders

When do the rest of us become stakeholders and part of that group (who support and pay into the Liberal Party ) who manage to get Immigration and Refugee Board positions to vet those who come to Canada?

Khaled Mouammar: Palestinian Activism and the Immigration Board Angry in T.O / AngryGWN, August 30, 2005

News today of a complaint filed against York Regional Police Services Chief Armand LaBarge, who went on a tour to Israel to study anti-terrorism and law-enforcement strategies:

[. . . . ] So here we have a family of Palestinians, many born in Canada, but feeling no particular attachment to what is refered to as the "settlement" of Toronto. They maintain a constant sense of being refugees, even as they pay for advanced university educations. The girls are immersed in the politics, and for Leila in particular, violently so.

So what does mother Mary do? She contributed to the campaign of Scarborough Centre NDP candidate Ali Mallah, president of the Canadian Arab Federation, who among other things, wants Al-Jazeera to be broadcast in Canada without restrictions, urged "caution" over celebrating the demise of Saddam's regime in Iraq and urged that the UN take over the country, and after 9/11, issued statements urging caution before blaming the events on Muslim terrorists but then seems not to have said anything to condemn Al-Qaeda (as best as I can tell, the CAF never acknowledges the existence of Al-Qaeda).

Oh, and by the way, Khaled Mouammar himself is a former president of the CAF.

That is not to say the Mouammar family was committed to the NDP. In fact, they gave quite generously to the Liberal Party, and no other party:

[. . . . ] I guess that sort of devotion [$$$ to the Liberal Party] earns you notice. From 1995 through 1997 (perhaps longer) 1989 through 1997 (confirmed), Mary [Mouammar] was a member of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada. I can only wonder how a member of a family dedicated to the goal of making sure Israel "didn't get away with it" while they passed the time in the settlement of Toronto would rule on every refugee claimant from the Palestinian territories, or any Arab for that matter.

How delightful! Don't you wish everyone on the IRB panels in Canada to have this perspective? ......... No? ........ Well, then, what are you going to do about it and all the other ridiculous immigration and refugee department incompetence, laxity and shenanigans? You may vote the government responsible out ... or you will get more of the same. Liberals (buy the votes of ) please immigrants and those who represent or lobby for them partly by choosing members of immigrant groups for IRB panels and to represent Canadians who are not part of the targeted groups / visible minority groups / new Canadian groups / et cetera on these IRB panels. This is only one of the many reasons Canadians' security has been compromised, that is, the security of those of us whose families have been in Canada for generations and who have contributed to Canada -- those Canadians who have families and something to conserve . . . the ones who care enough about Canada that they would not vote Liberal, even for a job on the IRB. Enough!

Leila [Leila Khaled Mouammar] is a member of No One is Illegal, which is pushing for:

* The regularization of all immigrants, refugees, migrants, and non-status people

* An end to deportations and detentions of migrants, immigrants and refugees

* An abolition of security certificates

Do you remember the riot at Concordia? Leila Khaled Mouammar was part of that. There is also mention of supporters: "MPs Libby Davies and Svend Robinson, political commentator Judy Rebick and the CSU"

Mention is made of Leila's activism; she signed this petition: the lie that is the HIV-AIDS theory.

How a terror group cloned Ted Rogers' cellphone By PETER CHENEY, Saturday, December 17, 2005, Globe and Mail

A journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step — and so it was that law professor Susan Drummond's long, strange trip into the world of wireless security, where she learned that a terrorist organization had appropriated Ted Rogers' cellphone number, was launched by the arrival of a phone bill for $12,237.60.

Ms. Drummond, who had just returned from a month-long trip to Israel, went numb as she looked at the stupefying figure, which was more than 160 times higher than her typical monthly bill of about $75. The Rogers Wireless bill included a five-page list of calls charged to her phone, almost all of them to foreign countries that included Pakistan, Libya, Syria, India and Russia. [. . . . ]

"Citizen's Panelist" Really Undecided? December 17, 2005

I was watching the [CBC] National last night and was dumbfounded by one member of the "Citizens Panel" (roughly 27:30 minutes in) of "undecided" voters, as she effortlessly mouthed Liberal talking points. I thought it was kind of odd and even Mansbridge seemed a little uncomfortable. I googled the panelist's name and in her bio were these little nuggets: [. . . . ]

Since 1999, she has been in high demand as a marketing strategist, advising clients as varied as ISMBC (a joint venture of IBM and TELUS), Imasco Minerals, and Popmachine.com as well as provincial and federal elections and leadership campaigns.

So au courant

This is my own grouse about a CBC program which I watched for relaxation, "This is Wonderland". In it a fellow, legs akimbo. back to the audience, urinated a healthy stream -- quite visible. I sat with my mouth open, shocked that this was part of the program (about 8:25 - 9pm). This is supposed to be family programming time. Would you want your child to think this is normal behaviour or even suitable as entertainment? Even if it happens in real life, does CBC really think we want to watch it as part of our entertainment? I notice the language is getting more "realistic", in the sense of descending to the gutter, as well. Since any of us may rent this kind of entertainment, if that is what we want to watch, why do we need a taxpayer funded CBC to provide the lowest common denominator scenes, as well? That is too bad because the program can be humorous when it doesn't carry things too far. CBC is alienating another who happens to want Canadian programming.

Why turf Martin? For so many reasons! Doug Fisher, Dec. 18, 05

[. . . . ] The best reasons for electors to rid of us of the Liberal government are its poor quality and arrogance, a blend of incompetence, wastefulness and amorality.

It starts with Prime Minister Paul Martin, who depends far too much on his personal coterie of advisors and handlers and counts little on the mandarins (deputy ministers) and his own elected cabinet and caucus. In consequence, the prime minister's office absolutely dominates cabinet and the House of Commons.

The following quote was found last month on the strangest of websites. It was on no other than the anti-American Al-Jazeera. Why would a Canadian waste time the week before Christmas on this?

What I have posted since last week is lengthy but I think it is intriguing, maybe even important enough to read the week before Christmas. At this time of the year, there are often events that occur that are missed, but should not be. They often involve our government, as well.

If you pair the seven posts that follow with the ones mentioned below, you may be led to question what our Prime Minister Paul Martin and his Team have been planning. Maybe you will explore further, as I did.

I started with being shocked at the bias of a news report in the Maritimes. Then I checked further to the group and instructor featured in that report. That led me to our Liberal government, to the UN's influence, and to the networks that have been established which ensure that it is next to impossible to change the way things are done in Canada, that there will always be a group in place to subvert change . . . just in case any new government thinks it is going to fix the democratic deficit . . . the one the PM has not fixed. I discovered that there are organizations and networks in place, moneyed in some cases, and in others, just people who have a stake in maintaining the system the way it is . . . the way things have come to be done and which may have changed our country forever, perhaps irreparably.

One thing I found as I searched was how many links in past posts had been corrupted and usually, where they led or what they led to, proved intriguing enough to make me look further, even to go to Pack-Rats-R-Us for help.

Combine the seven posts today, "Follow the Yellow--Red--Brick Road #1" to "Follow the Yellow--Red--Brick Road #7" with the information I found, after those seven had been posted Dec. 15, 05. (devil-in-the-boonies.blogspot.com)

Must staff and students toe the line and voice correct speak -- politically correct thought, for example, on women's issues...as well as on other issues?...Is it possible that there are re-education camps coming? Before you dismiss that as mad, read on. They won't be necessary in Canada, given the pervasive control exercised by a combination of government and other organizations, all with the willing help of right-thinking individuals.

Mob rule at Harvard -- "a sad commentary on academic freedom in America" Barbara Kay, National Post, Mar. 2, 05 (or Mar. 1, 05)

[. . . . ]In a classic mobbing episode, the underlying "crime" is typically either trifling or non-existent. The accused at first assumes his friends and colleagues will rush to defend him. But if the critics are able to cast their case in politically fashionable terms -- the fight against racism or sexism, most commonly -- then personal loyalties go out the window. People rush to join the torch-bearing crowd, lest the accused's crimes tarnish them as well.

Mobbing was first articulated as a syndrome by Swedish psychologist Heinz Leymann in the early '80s. He defines it as "an impassioned, collective campaign by co-workers to exclude, punish and humiliate a targeted worker."

[. . . . ] a 12-point profile Professor Westhues has developed to identify true mobbing. Amongst the criteria:

[. . . . ] The only way to combat this pernicious virus is for theorists to shake off their fixation on gender and race equity, the ideological intoxicant that drives normally sober academics to punch-drunk witch hunts. Instead, universities should concentrate on serious efforts to make campuses open to a diversity of opinion.

Meanwhile, instead of undermining his own cause and that of academic freedom, it would help if Summers started acting like a free man, and not a Soviet-era thought criminal.

[. . . . ] Now, as his government's definitive (and much postponed) foreign policy review is set to appear, I went back to my notes of those conversations. These were the idealistic ramblings of an ambitious politician who'd plugged himself into the seismic upheavals shaping the global economy. "We must develop a much stronger conscience in terms of our responsibility to others," he told me. "It's nonsensical, for example, that there is no international environmental organization of stature or a body than can deal with a tragic epidemic like AIDS."

What Martin had in mind was nothing less than spearheading the move toward a limited form of world government. His ambitions recognized few limits. He once confided to me that he wanted to duplicate internationally, especially in the underdeveloped world, what we do domestically, including a global system of equalization payments, free education up to the high school level, the formation of global instead of national health care and a universal banking system. Frost Hits the Rhubarb, March 2, 2005: Originally, that post had an entry "Canadians are Patsies -- & -- UN Global Control Crowd at it Again -- Anti-Canadianism & More -- Updated" . . . but it seems that this, like other things, disappeared into that great maw -- Gremlins. The following is still there:

* Note This! UN -- Women's Rights -- or Wrongs? -- Appropriate Moral Authority? -- & Petition [The link to this petition was . . . changed, rendered inoperable. Citizens making their views known: unacceptable? ]

The last item provides an example of how the global governance crowd through NGO's and the UN are able to bypass the electorate -- before busy citizens know what hit them. This item will be similar to what occurred with the Kyoto Accord, in that the global governance crowd are active again. Think about what Kyoto is [intended] to bring to Canadians, particularly to business; you will pay. Think also of who have something to gain from Kyoto.

Think then, of the women who have the time for international conferences on women's "rights" and women's "health issues"--euphemisms for abortion, etc--and read this. [. . . . ]

Look, for example at what has been the influence of one Canadian who was at the Montreal climate conference on the Kyoto Accord, the UN's Deputy to Kofi Annan, Louise Frechette. [ When a link disappears or is corrupted in a post, it causes me look again and further. ]

LOUISE FRÉCHETTE DEPUTY SECRETARY-GENERAL

http://
www.un.org/aboutun/DSG/dsgbio.htm

Louise Fréchette is the first Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations. A national of Canada, she assumed her duties on 2 March 1998, after having been appointed by Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

The post of Deputy Secretary-General was established by the General Assembly at the end of 1997 as part of the reform of the United Nations, to help manage Secretariat operations and to ensure coherence of activities and programmes. The purpose was also to elevate the Organization’s profile and leadership in the economic and social spheres. The Deputy Secretary-General assists the Secretary-General in the full range of his responsibilities and also may represent the United Nations at conferences and official functions. She chairs the Steering Committee on Reform and Management Policy and the Advisory Board of the United Nations Fund for International Partnerships (UNFIP), which handles relations with the foundation set up by Ted Turner in support of the United Nations.

Before joining the United Nations, Ms. Fréchette was the Deputy Minister of National Defence of Canada from 1995 to 1998. Prior to that, she was Associate Deputy Minister in her country’s Department of Finance. She served as Permanent Representative of Canada to the United Nations from 1992 to 1995. [. . . . ]

In January 1991 she became Assistant Deputy Minister for Economic Policy and Trade Competitiveness [in Canada]

Interestingly, the trilingual (Eng. Fr. Span.) Frechette has received an honourary doctorate from, among others, Kyung Hee University in Seoul.

An insider, along with Maurice Strong and others. Check her part in the UN oil-for-food scandal; she played a part which may or may not have been an acceptable use of her obvious talents. (posts on this site)
