Svend Robinson--"victim"

Robinson's tissue of lies is shredding rather quickly. His crime was not the momentary impulse that he suggests; rather it appears to have been a calculated act of thievery. His "pocketing" of the ring was preceded by his desire to buy a an expensive engagement ring for his male lover just days before. He told the jeweller that he had to check his bank account to see if he could come up with the $10,000 needed for a particular design. The answer must have been no, so he stole a ring estimated to be worth $50,000. Small wonder during his three-hanky press conference he didn't want to field any questions. Also, the RCMP were shown videotapes of his crime days before the "confession". The stress he alluded to had nothing to do with his work load, or his six year old fall, but rather with not being able to pay for a ring worthy of his love. If he gets away with this then the law will be further damaged. If the bleeding hearts want to comfort him in his "stress", let them do it on visiting day at the pen.
