Transfer Payments ... a sample ... only one sample page out of 295 pages listing recipients. Multiply this by the number of groups or possibly individuals, possibly researchers or otherwise recipients of taxpayer money. Naturally, there would be much scope for activism ... if funding has been reduced or cut altogether.

To begin with, a lot of the yelping comes from this list: Transfer Payments .
The Liberals had pieced off just about every group in the country in order to curry support. Taxpayers' dollars. Some might be deserving, others not. Nevertheless it is incumbent upon the government to make sure taxpayers' money is well spent. The Liberals spent taxpayer money to ensure they remained in office. It seems that this site (295 pages) was pointed out to some people prior to the last election and it is being addressed. A number of people don't like its being addressed, so they make noise......



The Public Accounts of Canada for 2006, which include the Financial Statements of the Government of Canada (see Volume I, Section 2), were tabled in the House of Commons on September 28, 2006. The three volumes can be obtained in print from the Government of Canada Publications.

Furthermore, there are 294 pages just like it. For non-recipients, the Transfer Payments are an utter bore. Less boring has been and will be the harvest, IMHO, from those on the receiving end, more (likely Liberal) votes and noise about how funding has been cut to "crucial" or "women's" or other programs. Check the various mainstream media websites for what is emphasized on the main webpage.
