World Nuclear Organization is a member of Digital Universe connected to Maurice Strong et al's ManyOne.net, "a vehicle for people and organizations to collaborate in the creation of a new, socially responsible information medium. ManyOne and its partners are pioneering new ways for people to learn about our world and universe, communicate, work and trade with each other and experience each others' talents. ManyOne's vision is to fulfill the original potential of the Internet as an open, democratic medium that inspires creativity, communication, collaboration and education." [a quotation from that site]

Why would World Nuclear Association be part of this? What is the agenda? Especially note what groups--leftist--and countries--hotbeds of safe nuclear development such as Pakistan--are involved ... and the concern for the environment. It makes my antennae twitch.

The World Nuclear Association which advocates is not the same as IAEA which monitors the world's nuclear facilities (Korea?), and is located in Vienna.

The mission of the WNU is to strengthen the international community of people and institutions to guide and further develop nuclear power and many other nuclear applications (in agriculture, medicine, environmental protection).

We live in a world that has only begun to consume energy. Today India and China are gaining rapidly on Europe and America in per capita energy consumption.

During the next 50 years, as Earth's population expands from 6 billion toward 9 billion, humanity will consume more energy than the combined total used in all previous history.

With carbon emissions now threatening the very stability of the biosphere, the security of our world requires a massive transformation to clean energy. [in co-operation with Pakistan and friends? ........ ]

"Renewables" like solar, wind and biomass can help. But only nuclear power offers clean, environmentally friendly energy on a massive scale.

Fortunately, this urgently needed expansion can now build on a half-century of tremendous advance in the safe and secure operation of nuclear technology

We are confident that an informed public debate - focused on facts rather than myths - will demonstrate that nuclear energy is indispensable to sustainable global development. [.... and Strong's network will inform us?]
