Bud's final anti-CBC political blog--Full disclosure clause forces me to say -- only till the election is over.

(This came from Bud before the election but I did not have time to post it so here it is, late, but that is life. NJC)

Who would have guessed the CBC would consider having two loony left American commentators advising Canadians not to vote for the Conservatives was worthy of being put in the top five 'news' stories? Especially, a corporation that rarely fails to slag all things American. Exceptions must be made I suppose. The night before the election, the National featured celebrity candidates, such as Ken Dyrden and other Liberal worthies. Oh, the Conservatives were mentiomed. General Lewis MacKenzie was trotted out as a Conservative celeb, but of course he lost, didn't he? It is plain to see that the CBC has been almost as panicked as the Liberals. A Conservarive government may question the value of a partisan leftish network, which totally ignores any viewpoint except their own. Not to mention that after mid-March they go into heavy re-run rotation, so if you missed their agitprop the first time you can still get it. It is also interesting to see how the CRTC (another illegitimate Liberal baby) allows the CBC's all 'news' channel to show cannibalized versions of their regular venue, plus documentaries; while the CTV news channel has to stick to endless loops of the same news items.

I would like to see the CBC truncated to one channel, which would present their morning kiddie shows, news up-dates, popular CBC/BBC programs, and the occasional lefty-slanted presentation--unlike the Liberals, I do believe that this network must respond across the Canadian spectrum. I would mandate however, that Rex Murphey replace Mansbridge, and Carla Robinson replace Allison Smith and all those other hard-faced ideologues like Julie Van Dusen and Carol McNeil. Huge neon signs would flash before every news cast, "No slanting or stereotyping allowed; just in case the embittered rejects get to Carla or Rex. It is a fond hope of mine, and the CBC types' worst nightmare.
