July 8, 2006: Canadian soldiers injured

[...] The more seriously injured soldier is scheduled to be flown to a U.S. military hospital in Landstuhl, Germany for further treatment.

"He was hurt pretty badly. Due to security reasons we can't tell you how he was injured, but we understand from medics he will pull through," said CTV's Steve Chao, who was on patrol with the Canadian troops when they came under attack.

Neither of the soldiers have been named, but the more seriously injured of the two has been identified as a member of the Manitoba-based 2 Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. [...]
