Afghanistan says Taliban leaders in Pakistan May 21, 06
KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) - Afghanistan's foreign minister claimed Sunday that Taliban leaders are living in Pakistan and coordinating terror strikes against Afghanistan from there - the latest barb between the neighbours who are both U.S. allies in the war on terror.
Pakistan denies all.

[....] The number and efficacy of bombings has decreased because of the blocking of unregistered prepaid cell phones. .... Insurgents have stepped up theft of cell phones and can use Malaysian SIM cards near the border. They have also been experimenting with other triggering mechanisms, such as infrared and other command-detonation systems.
There have been three beheadings in 2006, bringing the total to 24. There is little reason to share the government’s optimism. Drive by assassinations are up, as are arson attacks- especially on cell phone towers (in apparent retaliation of the government’s blockage of pre-paid cell phones). Their raids are increasingly bold and employing larger numbers of militants. They have also taken on a more ominous sectarian tone. [....]

Nina Shea, director of the Center for Religious Freedom at Freedom House, has a piece for the Washington Post on the hatred and Islamic supremacism that fills Saudi Arabian schoolbooks—and the lies told by Saudi shills to cover it up: This is a Saudi textbook. (After the intolerance was removed.)

Social Security for illegals OK'd -- Senate blocks effort to limit benefits for those who become legal residents -- ""Social Security was not intended for people who entered our country illegally," Ensign" May 18, 2006, WorldNetDaily.com
The U.S. Senate today rejected an effort to limit Social Security benefits for illegal aliens who become permanent residents under an immigration reform bill being debated.
As it stands, the bill the Senate is considering would give millions of illegals a path to U.S. citizenship if they pay fines, back taxes and meet other requirements. [....]

THE HAGUE -- Dutch politician Ayaan Hirsi Ali has been threatened repeatedly with "execution" by Islamist extremists. She lives in an apartment with bulletproof windows, and is driven to work at the Dutch Parliament by armed guards, who vary the route to outfox would-be hit men.
But an unexpected menace emerged closer to home: her own neighbors. They have fought to evict her, complaining that the presence of a well-known terrorist target in their luxury apartment tower in this Dutch city has upset their family lives and reduced the value of their property.

In April, his think tank, the Scientific Council for Government Policy, issued a report that found no fundamental clash between Islamic and Western values and condemned a "climate of confrontation and stereotypical thinking." The Council, which helps set Dutch policy, urged Holland and other European countries to reach out to Islamist groups abroad that have been involved in terrorism, such as Hamas and Hezbollah.

Is it a stereotype if it is true ... after what happened following the publication of the cartoons and considering what has happened throughout the world with Islamist terrorism? When do the Muslim terrorists start reaching out to those who do not, at the slightest displeasure, initiate hatred, fires, car bombings, embassy bombings and all the rest. When do they start practising tolerance ... or is it only supposed to come from infidels?

How many "students" are in Canada, telling three different stories about why they were going to a high school, lying about where they are from, overdressed in a trench coat in the heat. What can be hidden under a trench coat or a burka? Think Beslan.
Both arrived in the United States about six months ago and have student visas that require them to be enrolled at the English Language Institute
This is an account of some foreign students in Canada from one who experienced this ... pre-Sept. 11, 2001:
Outside, between classes, I wondered where a group of students were from, a group who congregated by themselves before or after every class and, unusually for a group of male students, never spoke once to another student nor were they ever seen to speak with any female students milling around. Many of the students from abroad will talk to anyone who seems friendly; some are so lonely. It made me question their origin. I asked an Egyptian student where they were from. First, he told me, Iraq; then, months later, Pakistan. Why would he give two different responses. The language was not recognizably Urdu they were speaking, at least, from my minimal listening experience.
On Saturday nights in a computer room, one regularly spent an hour talking over his computer [VOIP? Skype?], very disruptive to the serious, working students there on a week-end. He barked and barked, and barked orders some more rapidly and at high volume, until another male, seeing me look up, told me the barker was talking with his wife who was in the US, reportedly. If he were simply talking to his wife, he had me fooled. It sounded more as if "she" were receiving orders.......This was before 9/11. Naturally, I have wondered since .......
Unfortunately, universities in Canada are so anxious for the dollars (Is it for maintenance or expansion?) that they do not want to delve into what they are helping to bring about, with their wonderful programs to attract foreign students who bring the $$$. It is time to question this, to be very concerned about security. I suspect that the universities do not even want to consider to what they may be contributing.

The Muslim Brotherhood "Project" By Patrick Poole, FrontPageMagazine.com , May 11, 2006
One might be led to think that if international law enforcement authorities and Western intelligence agencies had discovered a twenty-year old document revealing a top-secret plan developed by the oldest Islamist organization with one of the most extensive terror networks in the world to launch a program of cultural invasion and eventual conquest of the West that virtually mirrors the tactics used by Islamists for more than two decades, that such news would scream from headlines published on the front pages and above the fold of the New York Times, Washington Post, London Times, Le Monde, Bild, and La Repubblica.
If that's what you might think, you would be wrong.
In fact, such a document was recovered in a raid by Swiss authorities in November 2001, two months after the horror of 9/11. Since that time information about this document, known in counterterrorism circles as The Project , and discussion regarding its content has been limited to the top-secret world of Western intelligence communities.
