Welcome & Congratulations, Prime Minister Harper, MP's & Cabinet -&- Islam

More later on the Prime Minister and his new government. The mainstream media can seem to mention little positive but plenty of negatives. Why? Read last week's posts, the No Indoctrination group.

The Islamic Double Standard

Every day of life now, we Westerners open our papers to further barbaric outrages from Muslims around the world. Al-Jazeera--the Pravda of the Islamic world--gleefully presents us with Western hostages being beheaded or threatened with it. When the fundamentalist crazies invaded a foreign workers' complex in Saudi Arabia, they singled out the "infidel" Westerners for murder. Certainly, the monstrous massacre of Beslan's children will never leave our minds. All over the Islamic sphere there are extremist clerics calling for the destruction of all who are not Allah's chosen people. They can't even get together on who the "chosen" might be. For the Wahhabi sect, they don't include any other branch of Islam. Iraqi Sunnis are slaughtering Shi'ites in the name of Allah, and soon it will be vice versa as the Shi'ites retaliate massively. (As usual, the daily news outruns the blog and reports 18 Sunnis murdered, presumably by Shi'ites). Iran will be glad to help them kill more. The list of murdered Christians, Hindus, and Buddhists is too long to enumerate. As frosting on the cake, we now have a delusionary Iranian president who wants to obliterate Israel with Iran's secret nuclear bomb production. Rafsanjani, their ex-President, went so far as to say that Iran being incinerated by Israeli nukes was a price worth paying to exterminate Israel (and tens of thousands of Palestinians--honourary martyrs). This is Hitler talking in Arabic. This gotterdammerung rhetoric is insane. Unfortunately, the new president has backed up those sentiments. While the West may stay in denial about these murderous threats, I assure you that the Israelis won't. They have had a brutal experience with the fanatics. They now recognize a Hitler when they see him.

There has been a chain reaction of the Western-Islamic divide. I think the train bombings in Madrid and London, along with the massive conflagration in France's cities has opened the Europeans' eyes to the mistake of Islamic immigration. Like North America, those countries blindly assumed these Muslims had come to emjoy the fruits of the economy, as well as greater freedom from their restrictive homelands. While that might be true of the majority, there is a large minority that hate the cultures they have entered.
They won't go home because so many of their societies are basket cases. Therefore they stay and seethe. The entire West must now begin a difficult process of reducing the Muslim immigration / refugee patterns of the past. Their demographic increases will swamp Western Europe if nothing is done soon. Then sharia law won't be a request; it will be a demand. Wake up Westerners and smell the danger.

The attacks on the Danish and Norwegian embassies

This religious mayhem is excused in much of the Muslim world as necessary to fight the crusaders, often with the covert blessings of their governments, who have managed to direct the masses' pent-up anger at their backwardness and poverty to an external source. An example of this conniving can be clearly seen in Syria. This dictatorship knows how to quell demonstrations. When the fundamentalists of Ham'a threatened old man Assad in 1982, he called in the army and decimated the city. 20,000 dead. Case closed. No nutsy demonstrations after that. It is obvious that the burning and looting of the Danish and Norwegian embassies in Damascus was government sanctioned. All this over a few cartoons denigrating Islam as having been turned into a psychopathic religion. The over-the-top reaction in Syria certainly puts our minds to rest about that scenario, doesn't it? Time for some religious internal housekeeping, I'd say.

It was also instructive to see our supposed moderate ally, Turkey, making a film that shows the U.S. army in Iraq as moral monsters, who slay an Iraqi wedding party just to break the monotony. This is the most expensive movie ever made in Turkey--$12 million. Its premiere was attended by the President and his wife. The corpses are removed to abu-Graib prison, where (wait for it) a Jewish doctor extracts their kidneys for sale to Israel, Europe and the United States.

Turkey is the country that wants to be included in the E.U., but has been stymied by European nations that don't think it is quite socially ready yet. What do you think? The anti-Western poison that this movie will spread is only a tag-a-long to the TV series that inspired it. That's entertainment in the Muslim world, interspersed with ads from al-Qaeda and the nightly BREAKING NEWS! beheadings. Many Westerners sit and watch this unfolding horror show, with no more anxiety than watching an episode of "Fear Factor" would hold. They cannot see that the mosaic policy is unravelling. Our institutions are being brought under attack by an insidious pre-medieval mindset. And that mindset has settled down right here. Sharia law anyone?

Interestingly enough, the running amok we see in Syria and now Lebanon comes to us from the Malay word "amoq", which means a murderous frenzy. Running amok and mindlessly slaughtering innocents is a time-honoured tradition in some Muslim countries.

Cartoon Muhammads and the Academic Caricature by Alexander H. Joffe, FrontPage Magazine, February 6, 2006

Cartoon Muhammads are all the rage. As threats and actual violence break out around the world over a Danish newspaper's irreverent depictions of Muhammad, how have Middle East studies specialists responded?

[. . . . ] Our favorite Saudi blogger The Religion Policeman has the matter precisely right: [link is on that website]

It's not about the Prophet (PBUH) at all. It's all about us. Me, me, me! We are insulted. Why? Because we choose to be, it's our right. The cartoonists are mocking the present-day distortions of true Islam by the bigots and zealots and terrorists, and the bigots and zealots and terrorists don't like it. And they are telling the rest of the 1.3 billion that they feel insulted as well, even if they don't.

It is as rewarding to see clear thinking and devotion to free speech among Saudis and Lebanese as their absence is distressing among Western academics. [. . . . ]

Excellent list and commentary -- a must read

Boortz.com: OUTRAGED MUSLIMS! OH MY! Friday (yahoo!) -- February 3, 2006

[....] Muslim outrage huh. OK ... let's do a little historical review. Just some lowlights:

Muslims fly commercial airliners into buildings in New York City. No Muslim outrage.

Muslim officials block the exit where school girls are trying to escape a burning building because their faces were exposed. No Muslim outrage.

Muslims cut off the heads of three teenaged girls on their way to school in Indonesia. A Christian school. No Muslim outrage.

[.... a list of 17 Muslim outrages about which Muslims muster no outrage ]

Newspapers in Denmark and Norway publish cartoons depicting Mohammed. Muslims are outraged.

Come on, is this really about cartoons? They're rampaging and burning flags. They're looking for Europeans to kidnap. They're threatening innkeepers and generally raising holy Muslim hell not because of any outrage over a cartoon. They're outraged because it is part of the Islamic jihadist culture to be outraged. You don't really need a reason. You just need an excuse. Wandering around, destroying property, murdering children, firing guns into the air and feigning outrage over the slightest perceived insult is to a jihadist what tailgating is to a Steeler's fan.

I know and understand that these bloodthirsty murderers do not represent the majority of the world's Muslims. When, though, do they become outraged? When do they take to the streets to express their outrage at the radicals who are making their religion the object of worldwide hatred and ridicule? Islamic writer Salman Rushdie wrote of these silent Muslims in a New York Times article three years ago. "As their ancient, deeply civilized culture of love, art and philosophical reflection is hijacked by paranoiacs, racists, liars, male supremacists, tyrants, fanatics and violence junkies, why are they not screaming?"

Indeed. Why not?

It is war.

Thanks to a friend, R, for this.

Identity Politics, Free Speech, and the Future of worldwide Liberalism, 2: a follow-up

[....] Note the bolded text, because it draws clear (if to be expected) lines of demarcation between the actions of the rival “protest” groups: [....]

That last bit of spin is key, because it not only shows the force of a cynical Islamic identity politics still trying to write itself in strokes that aren’t quite so obvious
[update: this story seems to fit well with the thesis that the “outrage” is part of an identity politics strategy]-- but it also highlights the dilemma western proponents of identity politics have (and always will have) to face: namely, the point at which the necessary clash of soft, boutique mulitculturalism and the kernel beliefs of identity politics groups threaten to erupt into something much larger than a minor disagreement that can be fixed with a bit of superficial policy manipulation. Which is why [....]

"The 12 cartoons ... have caused an uproar in the Muslim world and drawn a new cultural battle over freedom of speech and respect of religions."

Translation: “Free speech is good so long as it tolerates our right, as an identity group, to dictate which free speech is authentic and allowable. Otherwise, y’know, we get to torch [****].”

Lengthy and worth reading

Islamic Society of Denmark Used Fake Cartoons to Create Story! Feb. 2, 06, h/t Small Dead Animals

http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2006/02/islamic-society-of-denmark-used-fake.html

THIS WHOLE DANISH CARTOON CONTROVERSY WAS MADE UP BY THE "ISLAMIC SOCIETY OF DENMARK" WHO SPREAD THE FAKE CARTOONS ON THEIR TRIP TO THE MIDDLE EAST!

The leader of the group is a radical Islamist known for supporting the Anti-Western Islamist struggle!

The organisation Islamic Society in Denmark toured the Middle-East to create awareness about the cartoons, bringing 3 additional images, which HAD NEVER been published in any media source. Evidently, the originals were not offensive enough for the trip so they had to add these three:

They're on Gateway Pundit's site, along with related links.

I Stand with Israel: I Stand with the Jews By Oriana Fallaci, Corriere della Sera December 2, 2002

[A French court on Nov. 20, 2002, dismissed a request to ban "The Rage and the Pride," the best-selling book by [leftist] Italian journalist Oriana Fallaci that critics say incites hatred of Muslims. Fallaci, 73, is a former Resistance fighter and war correspondent best-known for her uncompromising interviews with world leaders]

I find it shameful that in Italy there should be a procession of individuals dressed as suicide bombers who spew vile abuse at Israel, hold up photographs of Israeli leaders on whose foreheads they have drawn the swastika, incite people to hate the Jews. And who, in order to see Jews once again in the extermination camps, in the gas chambers, in the ovens of Dachau and Mauthausen and Buchenwald and Bergen-Belsen et cetera, would sell their own mother to a harem. [. . . . ]

I find it shameful that in obedience to the stupid, vile, dishonest, and for them extremely advantageous fashion of Political Correctness the usual opportunists--or better the usual parasites--exploit the word Peace. [. . . . ]

I find it shameful and see in all this the rise of a new fascism, a new nazism. A fascism, a nazism, that much more grim and revolting because it is conducted and nourished by those who hypocritically pose as do-gooders, progressives, communists, pacifists, Catholics or rather Christians, and who have the gall to label a warmonger anyone like me who screams the truth
[. . . . ]

Passionate and correct.

Immigration

I have written before that it is time for the West, specifically Canada, to end Muslim immigration. First, it is considered by Muslims to be perfectly acceptable to lie and to kill to advance the cause of Allah and Islam, but particularly, if insulted (They appear to be easily dissed). Therefore, how can I believe anything Muslims say about their peace and tolerance? Not that they appear to be saying much. I believe that it is simply to render us quiescent until the optimal number are here. I make exception only for those who speak out in a reasoned manner against what all of us can see of the Muslim world and the endless hatred, jihad and suicide bombings, beheadings and general ignorance and bloody-mindedness advertised by their own media, in particular the Al Jazeera mouthpiece?

Why should I or any other Canadian take a chance on the good will of people whose religion is better known for its duplicity (think Arafat's gang, as an example) intolerance, exhortations to kill and its utter unreasoning madness? I hate the whole Muslim attitude toward and treatment of women. I don't want it nor the rest of the belief system here. Muslims have shown little appetite for democracy and tolerance. They are just biding their time, I think. There has already been agitation to bring Sharia to Canada -- and that came too close for comfort. Why should we import more followers of Mohammed? They have large families and will outbreed the Judeo-Christians and other groups, most of whom have shown they can live in tolerance in the West. (There have been exceptions -- e.g. resulting in the Air India disaster)

Four years ago I might not have written this but I have read, learned and re-assessed. I don't like what our world and our country has become while the politically correct mouthpieces have parroted the government which courted Muslim votes. I don't want to hear another faux-reasonable broadcast from the Liberal Pravda CBC in support of Islamic "militants" or implying that Canadians should treat the prophet whose teachings are the basis of Islam with respect. I cannot respect a religion with what are, in our world, barbaric practices and barbaric beliefs--think of some of the suras on women and the prophet--nor the prophet who taught them. In the West, in Canada, why should I not be able to state my considered opinion based on what I read, see and hear? I see the importation of these believers as a Trojan Horse.

Leftists, Liberals and the mainstream media have not socially engineered me ... nor anyone else whom I respect. Don't even think about using hate crimes legislation against those of us who will speak out. I suspect there would be a firestorm of Canadians who have listened to enough about according respect to this madness.

Has it not occurred to anyone that is has been largely as a result of Liberal governments, along with a Red Tory interregnum that was closer to leftist immigration ideas than I hope the present Conservative government will prove to be, that immigration and refugee policies have allowed this madness into our home country?

I have had enough and I speak for a few others I know who don't display their venom and vitriol for the world to see. Privately, they concur. Consider me a delegate for the "nice" ones ... an NGO of one, as it were.

Do you suppose I could get secret NGO funding and the ear of government power? ...... Ah, I heard there is going to be change ... good show!

I have to agree with a poster who wrote on http://www.jihadwatch.org/dhimmiwatch/archives/009267.php

"I am offended by much that passes as art ---and by much that is said and done against Christianity --- BUT, you won't find me threatening the lives of those offensive miscreants. And I find Muslim arrogance, intolerance toward non-Muslims, and incessant demands for religious accommodation to be offensive and I demand an apology!!! " [....]

An Islam of One: Irshad Manji at Yale By Jerry Gordon, former US military intelligence office and Middle East analyst at American Congress for Truth

There she was on the stage at the Whitney Humanities Center auditorium at Yale, escorted by uniformed security personnel, to speak at a seminar program of The Institute on Global Anti-Semitism Policy: Irshad Manji, expressive Canadian lesbian, feminist and nominal Muslim. She was a send up on that US Army ad to recruit soldiers, a literal “Islam of one.” Unique. Manji loves Jews and all unbelievers and thinks that Islam can be reformed from the inside out. A breathtaking and daunting prospect.

Media Apologize For Offending Muslims While Ignoring Anti-Semitic Cartoon
HonestReporting.com, Feb. 5, 06
Search: "Offensive" Cartoons in the Arab World

For an eye-opening selection of more cartoons of this nature, go to Tom Gross Media.com. With the lack of remorse that we hear from publications of these cartoons one has to conclude that the threat of violence is the only reason that most of the media are so concerned with offending Muslim sensibilities.

Be on watch to see if your local media runs anti-Israel political cartoons.

Oriana Fallaci: Wake up to Islam! -- "the decadence of Westerners is to be identified with their illusion of being able to deal amiably with the Enemy" -- Will this wake Canadians up or will our media go on kissing up to madness?

After the London bombing 2005:

[. . . . ] I've been saying it for four years--that I fight against the Monster that has decided to eliminate us physically and, along with our bodies, to destroy our principles and values. Our civilization. For four years I've been talking about Islamic Nazism; about the war against the West; about the death cult; about European suicide. About a Europe that is no longer Europe, but Eurabia, and that with its feebleness, its inertia, its blindness, its servitude to the enemy is digging its own grave. [. . . . ]

I began with "The Rage and the Pride." I continued with "The Force of Reason." I followed [those] with "Oriana Fallaci Interviews Oriana Fallaci," and "The Apocalypse." And in each one I preached, "Wake up, West! Wake up!" The books, the ideas, for which in France they tried me in 2002, accusing me of religious racism and xenophobia. For which Switzerland asked our Minister of Justice to extradite me in handcuffs. For which in Italy I will be tried for vilifying Islam; that is, for an offense of opinion. (An offense that carries a sentence of three years in prison; none of which will be served by the Islamist caught with explosives in his cantina). Books, ideas, for which the "Caviar" left, the "Fois Gras" right, and even the "Prosciutto" Center have denigrated and vilified me, putting me in the stocks together with all who think as I do. That is, together with the sensible and unprotected people who are defined by the radical-chic in their frivolous talk as "the riff-raff of the Right." [. . . . ]

George Jonas: The Cliche of DEMOCRACY -- thought provoking common sense posted by rosemarie59

We tend to treat "democracy" as if it were a synonym for the rule of law. We take it to mean a society of individual liberties and fundamental human rights, as listed in the U.S. Constitution or the UN Charter. The D-word has become interchangeable in Western minds with private enterprise, separation of church and state, an independent judiciary, freedom of expression, association, and conscience -- in short, with the sum of the best ideals of Western-style societies. [. . . . ]

Desirable as democracy may be, all that can be imposed on a society from the outside is its letter -- and democracy's letter may not spell any of the words we take to be democracy's spirit. In South America today it may spell C-h-e G-u-e-v-a-r-a. Strong, wealthy, victorious democracies may pressure weak, undeveloped, defeated autocracies to adopt majority rule as a method of governmental succession, but not without its key ingredient, namely choice. And when free to choose, majorities will choose what makes cultural sense to them at that point of their histories.

I read that Venezuela's Hugo Chavez might cut off US oil. (I haven't time to check and memory fails, but check.) Why? What is happening in South America? There is the Latin love of cara dura to consider, so Latinos have tended to like power demonstrated, even when it is against their best interests (think Juan Peron). Chutzpah, perhaps. Then there is the lack of education ... the rubes fall for the leftist blather every time and the media don't exactly dwell on the failure of leftist and communist governments -- other than to report what is given "free".

In Canada, the Liberals kept trucking in ill-educated groups, the better to rule forever. May the Liberals responsible rot in a ghetto of these people's making ... perhaps in one of those places where the inhabitants deal drugs at the end of a gun and where those who brought Canada to this pass are kicked ... at least in the entitlements, if not in the butt!

Would that be considered a fatwa? Or would one have to advocate bombing, beheading, butchery, general bloody mayhem to be ..... authentic?
