The barbarians come to London

Actually, they have been there for years. Think of the Islamic extremists, who openly preached their message of death to Blair and all infidels. Recently, I wrote about an Islamic mob in Hyde Park--most of them masked--who spewed their hatred for democracy and all things 'infidel'. The London Bobbies simply stood there doing nothing, although making death threats against Blair and wearing a mask in public are both crimes. This display of impotence in the face of barbarism only encourages it. How ironic that Sasha Trudeau and those of his leftist ilk have rallied around a terrorist suspect here. Along with this, we have the various Canadian Islamic groups bleating about how racist CSIS is in their attempts to curb domestic terrorism. This London attack was so co-ordinated it suggests 'sleeper cells'. Meanwhile Canadians have been lulled into the belief that we are immune to such an attack. Well, that is what the Spanish and French thought, until it happened.

This attack has al-Queda written all over it. The London bombings occurred within a minute of the time of the Sept. 11 massacre. The opening of the G-8 meeting obviously was part of the timing. Just as the World Trade Center was a target--versus a purely American symbol like the Empire State building--so this attack occurs when the G-8 is talking about alleviating poverty in Africa. Many of the states slated for debt relief are Islamic. It is this perverse logic that makes it clear that al-Queda has a modus operandi that is somewhat counter-productive. It is a Shakespearean "motiveless malignancy" in many respects.

If they think that the English will cave in to their demands, as the Spanish did, I think that they are sadly mistaken. One fallout from this will be "Red" Ken Livingstone's chances of re-election as London mayor (Scroll down for other interpretations on Red Ken from Monte Solberg and Michelle Malkin). Livingstone, a longtime lefty, recently feted an Islamic extremist from Saudi Arabia. This example of political correctness run amok will come back to haunt him. I would like to think that our leaders will have the resolve to bar Islamic "refugees" who step off planes with no (or fake) identification. However, our leaders are so paralyzed by their reliance on the immigrant vote that whatever action is taken will be weak. The statement "I have seen the enemy, and it is us" rings true here.

The insane terrorist attacks in London has its echoes in Iraq

Numerous Londoners expressed bewilderment about the reasons for the bombings. Didn't they sacrifice British soldiers to liberate Iraq from Saddam Hussain's monstrous regime? They try to apply some logic for the wanton slaughter of British civilians. That is their mistake. Western logic cannot suffice to explain the minds of terrorists. There is a twisted pathology that operates below logic when the fanatics strike. It is born of a rigid theology that admits no contradictions of their ideology and is immune from modernization or amelioration. Isolated from any religious reformation or modern philosophy, their minds turn inward. The madrassahs, with their emphasis on blind obedience to some imam's interpretation which leads back to the sword of Mohammed, is fertile ground for turning out automatons. Add to that a stifling societal background, where the natural sexual urges are sublimated into violent thoughts and blaming earthly women, and you have men who will kill indiscriminately--especially if there is the sexual prize of feminine purity in the form of 72 virgins at the end of their suicidal actions.

The irony of Sunnis killing Shi'ites, and vice versa, to gain this glorious Islamic prize never seems to enter their minds. We Christians had the same delusions about righteousness when Catholics and Protestants slaughtered each other during the 17th century. Now we shudder at such evil madness committed by our ancestors. No such qualms seem to exist in the Islamic world. Theirs is a Hobbesian world of all against all. Every Islamic sect reviles the other.

Iraq is a classic case of this mutual hatred in action. The Baathist Sunnis, along with their foreign jihadi allies, consider the mass murder of Shi'ites--even in mosques--to be fair game. Despite the fact that Saddam would have plunged into Saudi Arabia and ruthlessly subjugated them, Saudi imams preach that youths should now support these same Baathists by becoming jihadis.

Similarly, Sunni Syrians march off to martyrdom to advance their branch. They appear to have forgotten that their former Baathist leader, Hafez Assad wiped out 25,000 of them in Ham'a during 1982, Besides running a mainly secular regime, the Assads are Ala'wites, a despised minority sect. You would think revenge at home would be a worthy cause for them. Still, no matter, the Crusader infidels and their heretical Shi'ite servants must be the target. For the Iraqi Sunnis it wasn't enough that Saddam forced them into an eight year war with Iran, at the cost of a million lives; now they want to provoke a civil war with their Shi'ite brethern. This, despite the fact that the Shi'ites vastly outnumber them and have Iran as their backup ally. The Kurdish Peshmerga army would be happy also to chop them to pieces. By some miracle, should the Sunnis emerge victorious, the various foreign jihadis would then have to battle it out with the Baathists for control, Baathists who have military experience and could count on the Syrians for support. A future of endless bloodbaths would be the outcome. The Western infidels, who would retreat until the dust settled, would conquer the exhausted remnants.

Now take that bizarre pathology operating in Iraq and apply it to the terrorist attacks on England. Unlike the Spanish, there will be no desire to appease the terrorists by a withdrawal from Iraq. Because the jihadi's knowledge of world history is so deficient, they don't understand the lesson of the Nazi's blitz of London. However, they will soon find out that it will only harden the English resolve to smash them like cockroaches. Even the treacherous Saudi government will help them do it, as they now are reaping the whirlwind they created. The fundamentalists will spiral ever downward in their dance of death.

If you want to see how far they can descend into madness, remember the Islamic Army of Salvation in Algeria? After murdering tens of thousands of their countrymen, the various fundamentalist factions turned on each other. The rebellion abated only after their main leader decreed that "all" Algerians might have to be killed to arrive at the proper state of Islamic purity. This bottomless well of craziness was too much even for the fanatics.

London terror and Canadian apologists

Even before the total carnage of the bombings was known, there was Mohamed Elmasry's fantasy outrage A Muslim response to London? They were still counting the dead and the maimed in the hospitals of London on Thursday at 11:46 a.m. EST when Dr. Mohamed Elmasry, of Waterloo, Ont., head of the Canadian Islamic Congress, seized the chance to import this issue into Canadian ethnic politics and once more assert the right of Canadian Muslims not to be blamed for anything, ever.

Elmasry, the head of the Canadian Islamic Congress (CIC), was crying wolf about some perceived backlash against Canadian Muslims. It would be far more fitting for him to urge his fellowers to rigorously help apprehend the extremists in the Islamic fold. Every time the authorities round up suspected al-Queda members here, his group cries "racism". The hoary ghost of racial profiling is raised if young Muslims are given special attention at airports. It is as though Swedish grandmothers should be given extra attention, as well. Well, the major terrorist attacks around the world all have one commonality, radical Islam. I still remember that after 9/11, when the evidence was irrefutable that the perpetrators were all Muslims, Canada's imans refused to accept it. They were probably astute enough not to mouth the nonsense that Mossad was behind it, as much of the Islamic world professed. The Muslim American Society is no better. They are asking Americans to suspend belief and not associate this latest outrage with Islam at all.

But you don't have to be a Muslim leader to be a useful fool. You might just be a leftist ideologue like Sasha Trudeau or Naomi Klein. These two, along with their fellow travellers, have been trying to get a suspected al-Queda member in Canada freed. The Americans were pressured into releasing British Muslims from Gitmo, and now one of them is a "person of interest" in the London bombings. The loony left faction seem to have a death wish. Rather than wanting to see our superior civilization advance, they want to see it hobbled, if not destroyed. The irony is that if the Islamic fundamentalists ever won, these Canadian and US leftists would be the first to go before the firing squads . . . or beheaded in the public square, to make a point about their godless beliefs.

As communism has shown, useful fools are useful only until power is consolidated; then it's off to the gulags. But Sasha is only following in daddy's footsteps, I suppose. In his day Pierre Trudeau was a great supporter of Mao and Fidel, two of the world's great tyrants; then there is Trudeau's support for the elder statesman of Africa and father of Tanzania's agricultural collectivization, Julius Nyerere, whose socialist ideas destroyed the agriculture of the country. Useful fools beget useful fools.

The G8 gave the Palestinians $3-BILLION -- "to stabilize" . . . what? More guns, more suicide bombings, more child abuse, more death -- more life as usual . . . and, we musn't forget, more Mercedes Benzes. Remember the Israeli tanks rolling over several of Arafat's Mercedes, in an area surrounded by the usual Palestinian slums?

Does the G8 accomplish much besides allocating other people's money to those who have not earned it by the sweat of their brow? Do the Palestinians have to forego their obsession with killing in order to receive other people's money? Of course not!

Do the Palestinians ever want to be known for anything beyond an obsession with death -- Jewish deaths?

Name something admirable associated with the Palestinians. A concern for the world's needy . . . other than themselves? An education system producing well-rounded knowledgeable graduates with something on their minds besides committing jihad for Allah and those ever-dangled virgins? A successful business spreading worldwide? A fine humanitarian effort? A medical breakthrough? An engineering advance. . . well, would we not settle for hearing of other people's money providing something as mundane as sewage or waste disposal? A photo of the biggest pumpkin grown in the Middle East?

Suggestion: Does the Muslim world want to be known mainly for terrorism and its obsession with jihad, prelude to houris and "favours"?

Would someone please help the "lap dancers" chafing at the bit to enter Canada via ex-Min. Sgro and Min. Volpe's department? They could be re-routed to a gig in the Middle East. Perhaps they could do the world a great service by helping these men to sublimate or get over . . . whatever their problem is.

Picture CIC's self-appointed spokesman for all Muslims in Canada, Mohammed Elmasry, and PM declaiming that all Muslims are peaceful. Elmasry, before much was known about the London bombing, had already sent out his bulletin asking Canadians not to blame Muslims -- the victims of Al Qaeda.

Puar's father, Kalwant Singh Puar, is on the executive of Vancouver's Ross Street Sikh temple. He has been a high-profile supporter of federal Health Minister Ujjal Dosanjh.

The root cause of terrorism is a hate filled ideology that believes in the virtual elimination of all our liberties in favour of an Islamic theocracy. It believes in the murder of those who don't subscribe to their perverse beliefs.
