NYC Islamists Threaten Israel with Nuclear 'Holocaust' Carl Limbacher and NewsMax.com Staff, April 23, 2006 --
Renowned terrorism expert Steven Emerson reports on his "Counterterrorism Blog" that protesters from the Queens-based Islamic Thinkers Society chanted in Arabic:
"Zionists, Zionists You will pay!
The Wrath of Allah is on its way!
Israeli Zionists You shall pay!
The Wrath of Allah is on its way!
The mushroom cloud is on its way!
The real Holocaust is on its way!" [. . . . ]

America's Rude Islamists Daniel Pipes' Weblog
Israeli Zionists What do you say? The real Holocaust is on its way
The mushroom cloud is on its way! The real Holocaust is on its way!
Israel won't last long… Indeed, Allah will repeat the Holocaust right on the soil of Israel
No wonder they call you sons of apes and pigs because that's what you are.
May the FBI burn in Hell
CIA burn in Hell
Mossad burn in Hell
Homeland Security burn in hell!!
Islam will dominate the world
Were there any repercussions for the protestors?

Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) Newswire - April 21, 2006 : The Queens-based Islamic Thinkers Society (ITS) held a rally yesterday outside of the Israeli Consulate in Manhattan.
The Islamic Thinkers Society is an offshoot, at least ideologically, of London’s Al-Muhajiroun, a group that celebrated the 9/11 attacks, referring to the hijackers as "the Magnificent 19," and posting a burning picture of the Capitol on its website.

Natives / Aboriginals -- Excellent editorial
Editorial: Hardly a 'nation' Apr. 22, 06, NatPost
[....] Such an over-inflated opinion of aboriginal entitlement -- which is now widespread among Canadian natives -- is counterproductive and preposterous. Admittedly, this grand delusion has been fed by politically correct politicians, special interest groups and even the Supreme Court of Canada. During the 1990s, in such cases as Delgamuukw and Marshall, the court, among other stretches of legal reasoning, granted aboriginal oral traditions equal legal footing with land titles records and historical research, and created unrestricted treaty rights to hunting and fishing even though evidence showed the original treaties never intended such rights and native signatories understood that.
Canada cannot be interspersed with 600 sovereign First Nations just because "progressive" politicians, academics and judges have for four decades fed natives a steady diet of sovereignty myths they have come to believe. If land claims are to be settled, natives must first give up violent protest as a tactic. Then they must disabuse themselves of the notion that self-government equals independent nation status. When they are willing, peacefully, to negotiate the equivalent of municipal status for their communities, then progress will be possible.
Crime & Punishment
Mindelle Jacobs: Punishments don't always fit the crime
[. . . . ] In Canada, there's widespread consensus that life in prison isn't appropriate for mercy killings, says Schafer. "Do we need retribution? Are they so wicked? The answer is no."
The only mercy killer ever to be jailed in Canada was Latimer, he says, adding that if the jury had known about the mandatory 10-year term, he wouldn't have been convicted. [. . . . ]

Mining killed millions of baby salmon, report says -- B.C. students uncover impacts of gravel mine on Fraser River habitat Scott Simpson, CanWest, Apr. 18, 06
VANCOUVER - A catastrophic fish kill last month during a mining operation on the Fraser River claimed the lives of between 1.5 million and 2.25 million baby pink salmon, according to a report to be released today.
The report, co-authored by the students of the B.C. Institute of Technology fish and wildlife program, their instructors and the Fraser Valley Salmon Society, is expected to ignite a controversy focusing directly on the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, which authorized a short-term gravel mining operation immediately adjacent to an area that contains some of the most productive spawning habitat on Canada's most significant salmon river.
