The Ultimate Slippery Slope

If Canada gives in to madness, we might as well kiss satiric comment good-bye in the West. I just heard that the followers of Mohammed plan to use our own laws to shut us up and to end criticism of the obvious lunacy of equating satirical comment to murder, mayhem, burning, looting, murder and bombing, the usual Muslim response to being dissed. These people have boundless illogic and the arrogance of people catered to by our former government.

To begin with, I found only two cartoons funny (There were not enough virgins in heaven to go around in the version I saw, so the latest arrivals were told to stop -- presumably killing themselves -- the jihadi bombings.) and the other made a perfectly valid point about the modern followers of the word of their Prophet with their practice of a bomb hidden on the person (in the cartoon a man's head with a bomb sticking out of the turban). Both were fair journalistic comment using cartoons, but these followers of Mohammed think the rest of us should accept their murderous madness in response to just about anything but the West should not comment on Muslim atrocities in the name of the Prophet. From what I can see, these people do not fit into a Western democracy if they can get in a lather over a cartoon but not over jihad and murderous calls to jihad. After all the dismissal, denigration and criticism Christianity has been subjected to in the West, particularly in the state propaganda organ, I would expect the mainstream media to treat Islam with similar dismissal ..... perhaps treating it with the with the respect it deserves would be appropriate.




CIC to sue Ezra Levant's Western Standard for publishing the Danish cartoons

Wahida Valiante of the Canadian Islamic Congress, when asked whether the CIC would sue the Canadian Jewish Congress which had also published the "offensive" cartoons, reported the CIC hadn't made that decision but is thinking about, is going to or has already sued the Western Standard. Is it because the Western Standard presents a smaller target and CIC think they might intimidate Ezra Levant into surrender. The Jews will fight back, they should know and many of us will support them. CIC will lobby politicians. The CBC's Kathleen Petty asked about a contest being run by the Iranians who say that the Holocaust never happened, that it was not adequately investigated to prove that it never happened. Check what the answer was; I missed it. Muslim's tender feelings are are already treated with far too much respect in Canada, given their imams' ravings and what many Muslims support. Just blinkin' nuts! And they expect respect? When they become tolerant, maybe Canadians will accord them the respect they are so ready to demand. Perhaps they don't understand that respect is earned, not mandated by the state.




Censoring The Western Standard

Apparently, the Canadian Islamic Congress is taking The Western Standard to court over the publishing of the Danish cartoons. It wants the action to be labelled "a hate crime". The police told them it was not a criminal offense to express one's opinion about religion so they now want Parliament to make a law making satiric depictions of their religion a criminal offense. To accede to this would be the ultimate slippery slope. Soon any factual description, or analysis of Islamic terrorism, mass riots in Arab streets, or the fanaticism of so many of their clerics will be prohibited. There could no longer be any oversight of their communitiy's extremist talk or actions, because anything critical would constitute "bigotry". A few days ago I wrote about the imam who wanted Islamophobia made a crime. How do you make an emotion a crime? Calling George Orwell.

We already have hate law legislation for the most virulent forms of bigotry. Canada applied it to Ernst Zundel for his neo-Nazi ravings--to the point of jailing him. However, it is well documented that various Canadian imams (most not even citizens here) preach a brand of religious fanaticism which encourages Muslims here to despise the culture they live in. They even urge their young women to wear the cumbersome chador and hijab. This will help re-enforce their isolation from the "decadent" mainstream culture. Over years of this indoctrination, their will to assimilate has become weaker, not stronger but do the Human Rights Commissions and the courts ever lay charges? Of course not. The double standard they employ is astounding. To re-iterate: The death wish people protecting the death cult folks. We either stand up for Western civilization, which has advanced the entire world in every field of endeavour, or we allow ourselves to slip into a craven society which appeases the culturally regressive amongst us. We are at the top of the slide with this issue.
