Bud Talkinghorn: It's the decadent West, stupid! -- History: Other Suicide Killers, Cdn Muslim Blogs' Stupidity? Mis-or-Dis-information?

The suicide phenomenon--Historical remedies

We in the West must reactivate our memories of past suicide attacks and learn how we came to terms with them. Difficult, I realize when many of today's university students identify the Great War as that in Vietnam. Long before our current jihadi monsters, we had the Japanese to contend with during WW11. As the allies pushed towards Japan, they encountered a string of suicidal oppositions. Besides the kamikazi planes, the casualty figures for the attacks on Iwo Jima, Saipan, and "bloody" Tarawa bore out the fanatical resistence that the Americans would face. "Death before dishonour" was the Bushido code. That code somehow allowed the Japanese to ruthlessly murder innocent Filippino civilians after MacArthur's invasion. Also it didn't stop them from murdering 278 Allied prisoners in their concentration camp at Palawan--they burned them to death. Practically no Japanese soldiers were captured on the islands leading up to the Jpanese mainland. In Saipan and Okinawa there were even large numbers of civilians who committed suicide rather than allow Americans to conquer them. The American death toll in these battles was sobering. Okinawa produced horrendous casualties. Therefore, the prospect of invading Honshu and the other mainline islands meant entailing catastrophic losses. This projection was all part of the American's decision to drop the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. They had already firebombed numerous Japanese cities, with higher death tolls than the two atomic bomb targets; yet, Japanese resistence wasn't broken. It was time for drastic, yes, extreme measures. Vaporizing them with two bombs did the trick.

A reasonable person might ask, "What does this have to do with the world-wide Muslim terrorist organization?" Well, the answer is quite simple. If our Western cities become relentless targets for terrorist attacks, costing us not only any sense of security, but enormous economic damage, then the enemy will became revealed in its stark colours of the Islamic "other". Wazirastan, in Pakistan's NW frontier, which despises the West and harbours al-Queda, would be a target for B-12 tough love. Nobody asked whether Dresden held anti-Nazi folk. Iran would not be far behind, as they are a master terrorist supporter and had a former president, Rafsanjani, who openly (and recently) stated, should Iran get nuclear missiles, that Israel would be an immediate target. When told that Israel would possibly destroy most of Iran in retaliation, he said, "That is a price worth paying." He was never admonished for these insane musings; in fact, he was a close contender in the recent elections there. It really doesn't get more bizarre than this does it? So put Iran on the list. Next to Israel, the mullahs hate "the Great Satan" America which would be the one to retaliate. Depending on circumstances, Syria might be a candidate for "shock and awe"--along with the Sunni triangle, of course. Let us not forget Hafez Assad's 1982 lesson in the Syrian city of Ham'a. Nothing like massacring 25,000 fundamentalists in a single stroke to make your point. And eternal peace has reigned in Syria for the last 23 years.

As for the other Islamic states that are middling terrorist supporters, targetted assassinations of their militants, along with severe economic sanctions might bring them around. "You want to regress back to the 7th century? Then let us help you", might be the new Western mantra. Then there is the question of sleeper cells and our absurd refugee policies. Those too, will feel the sword of government righteousness. The Liberals, and their NDP claque will be swept away. Even their ultra-left supporters will change their tune when their own get blown to bits on the way to work; or when extreme adventure travel means getting on any domestic flight. Oh, and smile, because you will be on candid camera on every corner. Meanwhile, you Muslim non-resident immigrant / refugees, don't worry yourselves about bringing in cousin Asif on the family reunification program, because you might be going back to Pakistan, Algeria, Palestine, Morocco, etc. to join him. [Apparently, now you don't even have to be a legal resident before you can do this? Check this one. NJC]

All these speculations might be a dark fantasy, of course. But then there were dark fanasties about what would happen if the fascists of the 30's were not stopped weren't there?

Did Britain's Iraq war support cause the London bonbings?

Let me get my head around this argument. Four British-born Muslim men blew up their fellow citizens, fellow Muslims included, to protest Britain's involvement in Iraq. Therefore, that means that they really believe Saddam and his Baathist goons should still be allowed to murder and torture thousands of Muslim Iraqis. Hence, they support the endless slaughter of Muslim men, women and children to bring their ally's party back to power. Were Saddam and his henchmen still in power, they doubtlessly would be very proud of such tactics. In short, the democratic will of the Iraqi electorate must be silenced. Saddam's million death war against Iran, followed by his invasion of Kuwait, plus his suppression of the Shi'ites must have been a good thing. That he ran a secular state doesn't appear to matter to the jihadis, who have made a marriage of convenience with the deposed Baathists.

The first attempt to destroy the World Trade Center and its destruction in 2001 pre-dated the Iraqi invasion, so they had nothing to do with these attacks. The Bali bombing was payback for the Australians freeing East Timor. In fact, the entire apocalyptic reconquest of Europe and the control by a single Islamic Caliphate has to be ruled out as a cause. "Its Iraq, stupid", is the banner du jour.

However, the more we learn about all the players, and their Pakistani "religious education", the more we glimpse the true face of their motivation. Its the decadent West, stupid! The hatred for the West and its values--abortion, feminism, irreligious hedonism, homosexual marriage, and church-state separation--is the real impetus for their rage. Their desire is to enforce their retrograde beliefs on us. As Tony Blair has stated, "We don't have to imagine what they want to impose on us; we have seen the Taliban's Afganistan." Thus, it is truly a battle, not between civilizations, but rather for civilization. Just as the Romans let down their guard and allowed the barbaric Visigoths, Ostragoths, and the Vandals to settle in their territories, only to see Rome ransacked and its cultural triumphs ravaged by them, so we have allowed malignant elements to settle amongst us. Europe then began a rapid descent into an era we now refer to as the Dark Ages. That is the ultimate aim of the new barbarians, to force us back to at best a twilight zone. Therefore, as the pundits say, we must fight to the death to preserve our precious heritage, because we really have no other choice. We beat back the scourges of Naziism, fascism and communism; we can beat this evil ideology too. So forget any leftist talk of appeasement, accomodation or any other retreat. D-Day is beckoning--embrace it.

What they do not understand about democracies is that, when we have a difference of opinion about anything such as strongly held values, we agree to abide by the decision made in our Parliament, even if we do not like it. That is, if the Parliamentarians have not been coerced--e.g. by the PM--that they are actually able to vote as they and their constituents wish. Even with Chuck Cadman who voted to keep the corrupto$ in power, the reasoning he gave was that he was voting as his constituents wished. We can respect a Parliamentarian who does that, though we might not like the result.

At bottom, Islamists have no concept of democracy; they simply want to conquer, to impose their will upon others. This, we cannot allow. NJC

London: Here we go again

Coincidentally, as I was thinking of writing about some Canadian-Muslim blog sites and their paranoid London bombing scenarios, I caught the news of a new attack. Presumably, the paranoid / propagandists are already cranking out new disinformation about this latest outrage. According to these bloggers the 7/7 bombings were the work of either Scotland Yard or Mossad--that same nasty Israeli crowd that caused 9/11. Wow! You can't beat that for denial. After all, didn't the Russians get away for decades with the idea that the Nazis killed all those thousands of Polish officiers in the Katrina Forest? Perhaps it is not even denial, but a conspiracy theory that plays so well in the Islamic world. Such nonsense would not be so serious, if it were believed only by ignorant peasants, but it crops up even with educated Muslims. Such denial / propaganda is becoming almost as scary as were the bombings themselves. If these bloggers cannot come to terms with these radical Islamic incidents, it suggests that they will never cooperate with authorities to expose other potential perpetrators amongst them here.

This spurious casting about for the "real" perptrators has a famous historical parallel. When the Nazis burned down the Reichstag, they blamed it on the communists and/or the Jews. This gave them an excuse to start their oppression of these "enemy agents". The average German, already indoctrinated by Nazi hate propaganda, came to accept this as plausible. Dachau's opening came soon after that.

The possible motivations for today's attacks are multi-fold. The terrorists have sent a message that they can still strike. They may also want to create a backlash against the British Muslim community, thus insuring more recruits. They will certainly cast a searchlight for the fringe radicals. They might even increase British repudiation of the war in Iraq. However many Britons will disagree with the the idea that Iraq is the major impetus for these attacks. Despise the entire Western value system, the fanatics' Wahhabism, with its puritanical, anti-Western message, has been allowed to fester in mosques and Islamic cultural centers all across the western world -- in Britain more so than in most countries. The authorities have stood aside as these lunatics have openly preached their toxic doctrines. A similar mentality exists here in Canada as CSIS as informed us. Drastic action to stem these poisonous beliefs is necessary now, not when we are finally a victim of them. Yet I have waiting in vain for any response to these latest developments from our "government of infinite restraint".

Please allow me one more observation. If the Iraq situation is a magnet for foreign jihadis to gain paradise by slaughtering Allied troops and massive numbers of Muslims, then what would these fanatics be doing if there were no Iraq war? It is just possible that they would be applying for visas to Canada and the United States. As many of them are not connected to any known terrorist group, there would nothing to stop them doing that. Plus, if they had stayed home in Jordan, Syria, and Saudi Arabia, they might have attacked their own countries' governments. In the case of Saudi Arabia, in particular, I'm sorry they didn't. It is that government's huge suppport for the exportation of the vitriolic Wahhabi sermons, which has ignited these kids' minds. At least in Iraq goodly numbers of these foreign jihadis have been eradicated or captured. In a world of real politik thinking, these governments should be partially funding this Iraqi war.

© Bud Talkinghorn--Thank God for the likes of John Howard, the Australian PM, who immediately called a spade a spade. In Canada, it could be a spade; yet it might be a diamond, or for some, a bleeding heart. Six months after the next election, the Liberal government might set up a commission to analyze the implications of it.
